General Method:

In Early stages: surface is red and the inflammation extending:

• Cooling measures change every 3-5 min as it becomes warm
• Cold Mitten Friction or Cold Towel Rub every 3 hours
• Fomentations, not too hot, every 1-2 hours to prevent depression

When parts become dull red and not extending:

• Heating Compress changed 15-30 min, and longer as fever subsides

Pathological Problems:

• Local Skin Inflammation

Clinical Problems:

• Production Fever
• Chills
• Vomiting
• Pericarditis with Cardiac Inflammation and Cardiac Pain
• Myocarditis
• Swollen Painful Joints and other symptoms of Rheumatic Fever
• Albuminuria in Acute Nephritis
• Delirium

• Visceral Congestion

First few hours:

• air-cooled quartz or S-1 sun lamp for one huge dose 6-8x erythema dose - excellent results with...
  • Ice Bag over inflammation and advancing border throughout the disease
• Fomentations occasionally to renew reactive capacity, except on head

If persists:

• UV by S-1 sun lamp, 6min at 50cm BD for 3 days

In deep or meningeal cases: strong Derivative

• Hot Hip and Leg Pack with continuous Ice Bag over affected part

Migratory erysipelas (on trunk or limbs not face or neck):

• very hot Fomentations or
• Alternating Applications
