Acute:
- Alternate Compress (Fomentations and Ice Bag) 2-3x a day
If severe with local redness and fever:
- almost continuous Ice Bag with Hot Foot Bath initially then
- Hot Water Bottle to feet
- when patient feels like a more heat and less cold, this indicates the acute stage has passed use:
