Treatment Method:
If excessive heat elimination:-
- Warm flannels and Hot Water Bottle
- Fomentations to Spine accompanied by Cold Mitten Friction
- then Dry Pack, Hot Blanket Pack or Hot Enema or
- Hot Water Drinking and Dry Friction
- Alternate with short cold applications but be careful not to expose patient during changes
- Apply oil to skin
If excess sweating:-
- hot Saline Sponge
If diminished Heat Production:-
- Abundant Aseptic Diet
- Rest with heat (see above)
