For inflammations of the respiratory tract, singly or combined:

• Russian Bath or Vapor Bath
• Steam Inhalation medicated or plain
• Fomentations to chest or throat or Hot Trunk Pack
• heating Chest Pack or Throat Compress
• Hot Water Drinking
• are usually Diaphoretics

In:

• Coryza
• Bronchitis - acute
• Chronic Bronchitis
• Asthma
• Croup
• Bronchiectasis
• Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Precautions:

All the above treatments cause sweating so:-

• always end treatment session with Alcohol Sponge, witchhazel Sponge or Wet Hand Rub or Cold Mitten Friction
• protect chest with Dry Pack
• advise patient to dress warmly and avoid drafts and dampness.
